Starfall Hollow is getting closer to being open to the public. I'm working on the collectable pets and items, and working up all sorts of neat ideas for special events. Chris has been working hard on his end developing and coding the adventure system, and all the awesomeness required to create Starfall Hollow. We've been working on this for a year and a half and its finally coming together. We still have a lot to work out, but I hope we can beta test by the end of the year. This Teru Teru Bunni is one of the numerous creatures you can collect. You'll find all sorts of different species with color themes shared across species. My absolute favorites are the sailor theme pets.

I just got diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. Blah! Now I have to follow lots of dietary restrictions to get things sorted out. On the bright side, I can control what I eat and prevent myself from getting diabetes, it will probably fix my IBS, I won't be so tired, and I'll finally be able to gain some weight. On the dark, and disappointing side, I have to give up sweets, and pretty much all of the carby foods I love. I want my cinnamon rolls, and brownies, and key lime pie. At least most Mexican and Asian cuisine is open to me.
My sister is enjoying my misery. She is an extremely creative cook, who avidly supports healthy living and a high protein diet, which is what I am basically allowed to eat. She has gotten all sorts of plans for cauliflower crust pizza, and almond flour everything, and black bean brownies. Maybe she can find an alternative for cinnamon rolls? I thought drawing a cinnamon roll might help me feel better, but now my craving is worse. Two years ago, I got into paper cutting. I really loved it, though it gave me some serious hand cramp. This was my most popular piece. The story of Snow White. I just started back into paper cutting this week. I got a new craft knife with a rubber handle, since my old knife broke. I'll be posting pictures of my work in progress. Until then, here are a few other paper cuts I made two years ago.
Experimenting with a different Photoshop brush. Its not the one I'm looking for, but it does have an interesting effect.
I made this for my four year old nephew. It is a chimera called a Dustling. It is part rabbit, part dragon, with some additional animal parts. Titus picked out each of its features and was determined that it should have bee wing and fly through the sky like a rocket. I don't think I would have come up with this particular combination of features. I think it looks really cute.
Starting a blog is so hard. Have you faced down the emptiness and thought... eh maybe I'll start this later.
Well, its later. My name is Mallory. You can call me Mal. I love making art and I hope that I can pass on all of the cool things I've learned to kids who love art too. It seems about every year I pick up a new art form to learn. Last year it was miniature sculpting with polymer clay. The year before it was paper cutting. This year I'm learning Tsumami Kanzashi... though I am also learning some new techniques in paper cutting as well. I have two adorable cats that like to follow me around everywhere. I always appreciate the cuddle-able company. Their names are Custard and Carmello. Custard is a tan cat with orange eyes, she's super chubby and social, and likes to hoard her treasure under my bed, like a dragon. Carmello is a calico with green eyes, who can be super affectionate or incredibly devilish. I hope that through this blog you will be able to enjoy my artwork, and get to know me a bit better. |
