This was my first Game Jam ever, and I was so excited and worried about being a first timer. However it was awesome. I met so many interesting and talented people. There were developers, artists, musicians, and animators.
The theme for this jam was "Ritual". While we were having pizza and discussing the theme, I pitched an idea to the people I was sitting with most of whom I had just met. They liked the idea, and we decided to form a team. I had not expected that anyone would be interested in my ideas, or be so willing to work with me, since this was my first game jam. We ended up with several more people joining our team. Unfortunately things started going a little downhill from there when one person on the team immediately took over the entire project and behaved unprofessionally. However we stuck with it and finished the game. I feel that even though a lot of things happened that were extremely stressful, my personal expectations for the event were met. Which were to meet people, and complete a game. However, now I know what not to do at the next game jam, and I know who I like working with, and who I won't work with. I also learned that having a large team does not mean you will accomplish more in a short period of time. In fact it can really make it difficult to accomplish anything. These are the assets I made for our game Chromasia.
